FAQs

Q How can I change the URLs so I can use the new AIS preflight information bulletins (NOTAMs).
A For more information on how to do this look at: http://www.notampro.com/help.htm

Q Do I need an Internet connection to use NotamPro?
A Yes. Although NotamPro will run without a connection it would not be able to obtain the latest NOTAM data without an Internet connection.

Q How does NotamPro know where the NOTAMs are located on the map?
A NotamPro reads the NOTAM text file and applies a number of unique algorithms to search for any longitude/latitude co-ordinates. These are then plotted on the map. NOTAMs that do not contain a longitude/latitude are not shown. These, however, will usually contain a named location or identifiable navigation aid.

Q Can NotamPro decode NOTAMs from web sites that do not let me download the data?
A Yes. If you can select and copy the NOTAM text from the web site it can be pasted into the text frame of NotamPro and then decoded using the Process NOTAM text option.

Q Can I change the default map from the lo-res version to the hi-res version?
A Yes. Use
"Windows Exporer" or "My Computer" and locate the folder in which you installed NotamPro. If you accepted the defaults during the installation it will be in: c:\Program Files\NotamPro. Edit the file "Country.cfg" with Notepad or a similar text editor. Change the first entry "UKstd.npm" to "UKhires.npm". Save the file and the Hi-Res map will become your default map.
